Yesterday, I was on the late shift at work. Before I headed in, Monica had already finished her cram school classes. She gave me a call, mentioning that she planned to stop and buy some bread on her way home to serve as tomorrow's breakfast for the whole family. However, Wendy felt they'd been having bread too often lately, so she asked Monica not to buy it. She reassured her that she would handle breakfast the next day. I understood that Monica actually wanted to have an egg tart, but she might have felt awkward going against her mom's wishes. So, she agreed not to buy bread for breakfast.

She gave me a call and said she was going to stop by the store to pick up some bread for the family to have for breakfast the next morning. But my wife Wendy felt we'd been eating too much bread lately, so she asked Monica not to buy any bread since she would take care of breakfast the next day. I know Monica actually wanted to have egg tarts but she probably didn't want to go against her mom's wishes. So she just said okay, then she won't buy any bread for breakfast.
